News items? Pointless?

Hi guys,

Part of this new system is the ability to repost items to the front page as news. Specifically, I put the "In the News" forum up for that purpose. My question to you guys though (as the ones who actually USE the site), is this too much of an issue or pain to deal with?

Would you rather just remain pretty much "forum only" and forsake the news thing? (easily done, I'm just giving you the option.)..

So, here's a vote. No pancakes option, very deliberately, because I need to know what you guys think.
