Report: Bill Clinton Facing Fresh Accusations of Sexual Assault

Former President Bill Clinton is reportedly facing a new round of charges of sexual assault from four women, who claim the incidents occurred after Clinton left the White House in 2001.

Author and journalist Ed Klein reports in the Daily Mail that attorneys have notified Clinton that they are preparing to file four separate lawsuits against him. Klein says a member of Clinton’s legal team has confirmed the existence of the allegations to him.

Clinton’s history of sexual misconduct both before and during his presidency returned to the spotlight in 2016 and again in 2017 during his wife Hillary’s failed presidential bid and more recently amid new allegations of sexual misconduct against a plethora of politicians, journalists, and Hollywood celebrities.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) said last week that Clinton should have resigned the presidency in the wake of his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. It forms part of a broader re-evaluation of Clinton’s conduct by Democrats and left-wing media pundits.

Buzzfeed: She Said That a Powerful Congressman Harassed Her, Here’s Why You Didn’t Hear Her Story

Paul McLeod and Lissandra Villa write for Buzzfeed News that Rep. John Conyers has been alleged in four signed affadavits of making sexual advances toward former female staff members:

Michigan Rep. John Conyers, a Democrat and the longest-serving member of the House of Representatives, settled a wrongful dismissal complaint in 2015 with a former employee who alleged she was fired because she would not “succumb to [his] sexual advances.”​

Documents from the complaint obtained by BuzzFeed News include four signed affidavits, three of which are notarized, from former staff members who allege that Conyers, the ranking Democrat on the powerful House Judiciary Committee, repeatedly made sexual advances to female staff that included requests for sexual favors, contacting and transporting other women with whom they believed Conyers was having affairs, caressing their hands sexually, and rubbing their legs and backs in public. Four people involved with the case verified the documents are authentic.

And the documents also reveal the secret mechanism by which Congress has kept an unknown number of sexual harassment allegations secret: A grinding, closely held process that left the alleged victim feeling, she told BuzzFeed News, that she had no option other than to stay quiet and accept a settlement offered to her.​

Democrat Raul Bocanegra Resigns over Sexual Harassment; Activist Runs for Seat

The Los Angeles Times reported Bocanegra’s somewhat cryptic statement, in which he denied “crimes” but suggested that he had done something wrong:

I hope the community will have a new representative sooner rather than later. Furthermore, it is my hope that in taking this action we can help clear the path so that women and men who have been truly victims of sexual assault and workplace harassment can step forward and get justice for any crimes committed against them. While I am not guilty of any such crimes, I am admittedly not perfect…

I sincerely hope that my decision to resign immediately does not embolden those who are using this serious problem in our society to advance their own personal political gain, rather it is my hope that this action can instead help to widen the doors for victims of sexual assault and workplace harassment to find justice and solace.​

The Times noted that Bocanegra’s resignation came one day before hearings on sexual harassment in the State Capitol workplace.

Hillary Clinton Shielded An Accused Sexual Harasser On Her Campaign

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton allegedly retained a top adviser on her 2008 presidential campaign even after she learned that he was accused of sexual harassment.

Four sources told The New York Times that Burns Strider, who served as Clinton’s faith adviser, was accused of repeatedly sexually harassing a young staffer.

Clinton’s campaign manager at the time, Patti Solis Doyle, requested that Clinton fire Strider, but instead Clinton insisted that he he undergo counseling and lose several weeks of pay. The young woman was reassigned and forced to sign a nondisclosure agreement.

WATCH: Senior Obama Official Caught Taking Picture Up Woman's Skirt

New surveillance footage released on Friday shows one of Obama's former senior officials taking a picture up a woman's skirt in July 2016 at a D.C. Metro station.

William Mendoza, who was Obama's director of the White House Initiative on American Indian and Alaska Native Education, pleaded guilty to a single count of attempted voyeurism after he resigned from his position in November 2016, the Daily Mail reported earlier this year.

Mendoza, who was making $140,000 a year working for Obama, was only given a 90-day suspended prison sentence in addition to a $100 fine and one-year probation.
