This new article has an older tidbit I seemed to have missed. Right from the beginning he tried to change the narrative. So far the allegations are so vast and so disgusting it hasn't worked yet, but I've been predicting all along at some point the Liberal Media narrative will shift blaming "toxic masculinity" and by extension republicans. They'll try to make Democrats and Hollywood the victim, they are just waiting for the right moment.

Why did Weinstein contribute generously to the endowment of a faculty chair at Rutgers University in the name of Gloria Steinem?
And why, earlier this year, did he attend the “Women’s March” – (though only in a gray beanie, not the full-on pink vagina hat) – at the Sundance Film Festival?
Was it
a) because Weinstein is an arch feminist who has always cared passionately about women’s rights and believes that if only we educate the world with more gender studies classes and encourage more girls to fight the oppressive male hegemony by dying their hair blue and putting on weight then sexism will be abolished for ever?
b) because when you’re a wolf the sheep tend to panic less when you pick them off, one by one, if you’re wearing a nice, white woollen outfit and going “baaa baaa” really loudly?
But why single out Weinstein? They’re all at it. Ben Affleck. Roy Price. Oliver Stone. Liberals all.

Me agreeing with John Oliver? Credit where credit is due. At least he is not treating the subject with kid gloves or being an apologist.
I don't know if I'd put Mel Gibson in that lineup at the end, but otherwise spot on. Mel did have some ugly verbal outburst but AFAIK never raped anyone or even sexually harassed.

She divulged, “I have my own experiences that have come back to me very vividly and I find it really hard to sleep, hard to think, hard to communicate a lot of the feelings that I’ve been having about anxiety, honestly, the guilt for not speaking up earlier.”
Witherspoon, who debuted on the silver screen at 15, continued, “[I feel] true disgust at the director who assaulted me when I was 16 years old and anger at the agents and the producers who made me feel that silence was a condition of my employment.”
The Academy Award-winning actress went on to claim that the incident was just one of a number of times she had been sexually abused throughout her career.
“I wish that I could tell you that was an isolated incident in my career, but sadly it wasn’t,” she said. “I’ve had multiple experiences of harassment and sexual assault and I don’t speak about them very often.
Most of them still not naming names, staying complicit.

Multiple Women Allege Abuse by VICE ‘Male Feminist’ Contributor
The alleged perpetrator was later revealed to be Michael Hafford, who has also written for Refinery 29, Playboy, and Rolling Stone.
Following numerous allegations of abuse, Hafford set his Twitter account to private, and blocked one of the accounts alleging abuse.

Maroney claims that Dr. Larry Nassar once slipped her a sleeping pill so that he could molest her in a hotel room in Japan.

Laura Dern Reveals Being Sexually Assaulted in Hollywood at Age 14

Dern also praised the women who spoke out at the Elle event about the abuse they’ve endured in Hollywood and beyond.
“There was no one there who didn’t say they’d had the experience,” Dern said. “Here is an abuse of power here and something is not OK.”
Jessica Chastain blasted Hollywood’s hypocrisy as the Elle event, saying “This is an industry rife with racism, sexism and homophobia.”
“Oh we’re very quick to point the finger at others and address the issue with social action and fundraising,” she said. “Yet there is a clear disconnect between how we practice what we preach in our industry.”

If you don’t know who she is, she stars on an AMC series called “Turn: Washington’s Spies.”
