Waiting on the outrage!

We already know McDeath likes it.

A bill to let Big Government set your salary.

Now there is some real butchering of the constitution.

Hey look! The guys who earn billions are trying to scare us into helping them stop a law that prevents them from raping us while they pay us squat.

BTW, Rush Limbaugh, just for example, earns before lunch what most Americans earn in a year, but what tangible thing that you can hold in your hand and makes your day to day life easier has he ever produced? Squat. He has produced zero wealth. He has, however, made a lot of money.

[quote="Fade"A bill to let Big Government set your salary.

Now there is some real butchering of the constitution.[/quote] Investors in business do so sometimes without strings but more often with strings. This includes establishing the profits and payments for executives, and determining the pittance that peons split up for their salary. Why should the government be any different? If businesses don't like the terms then don't take the money.

My issue is doing it after the fact. That's wrong.

Screw them. If they get to keep 10% of their bonuses they are still 10% ahead of where they would be if they hadn't had taxpayers bail them out. They are crooks. If they were lifting the copper out of your house right now you'd have no qualms about kicking their asses. They are doing and have done worse. They are lucky not to be hanging from lamp-posts.

Are you kidding me? You're going to defend this.

Quote from the article
"The new legislation, the "Pay for Performance Act of 2009," would impose government controls on the pay of all employees -- not just top executives -- of companies that have received a capital investment from the U.S. government."

And
"It applies to all employees of all companies involved, for as long as the government is invested. And it would not only apply going forward, but also retroactively to existing contracts and pay arrangements of institutions that have already received funds."

Hope you didn't write any code for General Motors Fluffy, because if Obama, Geithner, or Frank decide that GM paid you more than the work was worth, then you'll be paying it back, even if you are from Canada!

Hey wait a minute, that might be a way to help pay for some of this huge debt. A billion or two repaid by some of those overpaid union workers would help a lot!

It's a bill that just keeps making friends.

Basically the gubmint is a pimp and he's just made some companies his crack ho's.
