Somehow I can't help feeling like this story would have gone differently if the sexes had been reversed.

Of course. A 14 year old girl vs 14 year old boy having sex is completely different. I don't agree with it though :(

Exactly. It is what's called having your cake and eating it too. Women want to be "equal" as long as it means they get special treatment, artificially higher wages, the sole decision to whether a couple can murder their offspring, the option to financially destroy a man she simply had a fling with, little or no consequences for pedophilia, less consequences for violent crimes, freedom to dress as they wish without push push back under penalty of law , freedom to wear hair they wish without push back under penalty of law etc etc etc.

What we are seeing isn't feminism, it's female supremacy in action.

    -Edit-
Let's reverse gender rolls here to see how things look. A heterosexual white man decides he wants to wear nothing but a shear dress and have bright red hair. This guy decides to knock up a 14 year old girl, and then decides he doesn't want to be a father so forces the girl to have an abortion. He then goes and assaults a few random women. Through all this he demands and gets a raise at work even though he is under qualified.

Sounds ridiculous and is ridiculous, but if everything I said above was about a woman most people including judges would hardly blink.

A woman decides he wants to wear nothing but a shear dress and have bright red hair. This woman gets knocked up by a 14 year old boy. The boy doesn't want to be a parent but she insists and seeks alimony. This woman gets in an argument with a few men in public and assaults then while they don't fight back. This woman goes to HR and threatens to sue because with her Gender Studies degree is a much poorer sales person than her male counterparts.

Only flipping genders it doesn't sound as silly anymore. The woman probably wouldn't get alimony from a 14 year old boy, but even that is borderline these days.

Equal should mean equal, good or bad. It is ridiculous that the same women who claim to be SJW feminists still expect chivalry.

Red, you have pretty much summed up modern feminism and its flaws. Feminism was useful in that it allowed gender equalisation but today it doesn't have the same relevance. Today's feminists are fighting for rights most women don't want. Women don't want special treatment but instead are simply seeking equal social status. While I agree that some women are annoyingly dumb, overall i think this is the minority. I can also point out that your argument could go both ways in that men expect special treatment and really just want women to go away. I know lots of men who are overpaid and under qualified who are only there because of their gender.

Although I definitely agree that reverse discrimination isn't productive.

I'd say that is quite probably no correct. Their gender isn't the only reason that they are there. They are there because they are good at playing the ladder climbing game, know how/when to intimidate, how/when to suck up, how/when to take credit and how/when to pass the buck. Rise through an organisation isn't necessarily based on competence since the people who are actually good at doing a job are too useful doing it to promote. The situation isn't markedly different in female dominated firms but the culture is different. While men compete by intimidation, braggadocio and machismo, women compete by shaming and rumour mongering. Both genders are status seeking and women seek higher status males as mates - so in a world where everyone has the same status, who are the women going to want to mate with?

You are right! Men are more aggressive and aggressive behaviour usually finishes first. Life choices also plays a role in shaping careers for women and men. Men tend to be more direct, ambitious and aggressive in their career choices such as what courses to study at university whereas women tend to hold back.

More male CEOs: more male prison inmates.
