Hurricanes, floods, et al
    Posted: Fri Apr 01, 2005 8:41 am

Ok, back to my "seperatist" roots.

I understand that recent world events, such as the tsunami and the earthquakes bring out the desire to help people, but I'm pretty well disgusted by the way the media has turned the whole Tsunami situation into a "let's guilt the world into giving money competition" (making any country that didn't commit obscene amounts of money out to be a bad guy -- even if that country contributed in FAR SUPERIOR ways)

Yet another instance of the US trying to play "world police"....

I've seen that kind of thing over here a couple of times.

One of the reasons I stopped watching the news long ago. Except for when 9/11 happened, I actually saw that from quite early on.

Since the war in Iraq I've purposely avoided the news channels even more.

Yeah, I think the media has lost it's damned mind, but that's a different story altogether.

The fall of the Roman empire comes to mind.

I must not watch the news enough. The last time I watched news about the Tsunami the USA was getting bashed for not contributing enough. I think this is just an extremely sensitive issue. 1/4 million +++ people dying is just too horrific for words.

Do you know what chaps my f'in hide??? The USA helps everybody out (just about).. and you know what we get??? A BIG F-U !! I'm tired of us helping everybody.. let them fend for themselves. Let the almighty France or Canada send their "military might" to Iraq or any other place that needs peacekeeping and see how they fare...

oh but wait..they want us to help them after they were against helping us..ooooooohh...ok..
