Another hit on the nail. Though I can say it's far from US exclusive (considering NASCAR as any sports-event like football or the Tour).

while this isn't my total experience in world travel, it is largely so... i don't know where the author has been in "totality", but by and large the places i have been sent were truly god forsaken shit holes.... but thats why they sent me....
 
that's because the best places are taken up with tourists :D
