Has anyone read Murakami's 1Q84? I'm about 3/4 of the way through and thoroughly enjoying it. It's got quite a few negative reviews as being a bad translation, repetitive and rambling, but I have no idea what these reviewers are talking about.

I presume that since it sold incredibly well in the original language and it has been reviewed many time it would probably be safe to assume that someone has read it.

... not me though. I'd never actually heard of it 'till you mentioned it.

Well, by 'anyone' I was specifically referring to anybody on this actually site. I didn't suppose for one minute that nobody in the whole world had read it other than me...

Which still leaves an infinite number of potential amounts of time that you did suppose so.

Mwah ha ha ha. Today I am pedantic!!!! Fear my terrifying picking nits.

Oh, by the way - nice to see you spending time around here these days. Please excuse my silly mood.:)

True. Let me be more specific. Has (anybody who is currently frequenting this site >= (one time per calendar week (on Earth))) read the book 1Q84 by Murakami from any point previous to the date and time of this post up until the date and time of this post? (I think I got the parentheses balanced...)

I generally tone down my pedanticness (pedantitude? pedantorosity?) as my experience thus far has been that people tend to find it annoying. However, I find it a powerful antidote to the tendency of most people to be ambiguous! ;)
