Topper.
It's going to get a whole lot worse after this year.
Stand your ground is a bad law. There's nothing wrong with defending yourself, or even to use deadly force to do so. However, if you have the opportunity to escape or subdue the attacker in any other way, you should. Deadly force should be a last resort, and not just for citizens but for police as well.
Indeed, especially with this attempt to get rid of the Stand Your Ground law.

where I live I can defend myself. periodWrong. The law was passed because the previous law required the homeowner to attempt to flee, regardless of the situation, and homeowners were being sent to prison for defending themselves against violent intruders.
First of all, stand your ground is not necessary for a castle law. Those two CAN be different, and the key difference being that stand your ground laws are in effect anywhere, including a busy shopping mall or parking lot or school yard - the sort of places where stray bullets can cause all sorts of problems. Second, if you are targeted for murder and you or a family member is trapped in the house, obviously you can't flee in which case you've got green light for deadly force. So where's the problem?Bullshit. If someone breaks into your house and attempts to kill you and your kids, you should not be forced to attempt to flee first.

don't ever forget or neglect to mention that it was one of your own who brought this on.... and if he isnt one of yours then you should have taken more care in not arming him.... youd deny millions the right to vote without id in the name of the less than 1 percent of fraud... and now someone is going to take your precious right to kill law for the same reason and in the same manner... sux eh? the irony gotta hurt a little too...

A tie is a license to lie. A red tie doubly so.
