Democratic Senators in recall election

Two parts of Wisconsin remain in the throes of recall fever. Voters in the southeast, as well as in northern Wisconsin will today decide the fate of their Democratic Senators. They were targeted for recall after they left (fled) the state earlier this year, to delay a vote on Gov. Walker’s rollback of collective bargaining rights for public workers.

Both Dems won reelection.

There's been 9 recall elections. Dems netted 5 out of 9. Increasing their numbers and decreasing the Republican majority to a slim 1 vote margin. As 1 Rep voted against shutting down the State Unions, and he's still there, this is going to make things most interesting. The amount of work will have increased for the Republicans to ensure a lock-step vote.

I know some would like to recall the Gov. I don't see that happening. There's about 1/2million signatures needed. A recall cannot be filed until Feb 2012. Which would make a summer election just before the fall election. I wouldn't want to bet people want that much voting this year.

if I lived in that State I'd vote a million times to have that scumbag gov hanged by the neck

The thing is - you don't have to vote for it.
It could be accomplished by as few as 100 determined people in broad daylight and no-one could stop it. It would certainly concentrate the minds of a good many officials if they could see that the future chair on the board or other cushy future job was not as guaranteed as they had been told. I'm sure most people would be horrified - but small groups elsewhere might be inspired. It could be an act of French Revolutionary importance.

As more and more people fall through the cracks tensions run higher and the madness of crowds becomes less predictable. Of course, the higher ups know that and that is why there are so many detention camps and militarized police in the land.
