Check out the infographic. As of 2001 the CBO projected a new surplus. Then the Bush tax cuts, Bush wars, and Bush uncovered additional spending in healthcare came along. Oh don't get me wrong Obama added a smidge.

This is why I laugh when Republicans tell me how fiscally conservative they are.
