2013 - Universal Flu Vaccine?

I doubt it will go through the FDA in this short amount of time. It might reach testing but unlikely full public access. If and when success is demonstrated then awesome.

In related news 4 years ago India had the majority of Polio cases. Through an aggressive vaccination program India, as of Fri, reached its first year ever of ZERO new cases. Thank you science!

The Truth About Gardasil

But I guess you are still worried about Swine Flu.

Oh course it is easy to stumble through life blindly, believing the propaganda that pop culture puts forth. Most people cannot accept the reality that is happening, even when it was a clearly spelled out intention. If you are not part of the elite circle, you need to die. Don't believe me, listen to Obama's Science Adviser's own words from his 1977 book Ecoscience.

Page 837: Compulsory abortions would be legal
“Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.”
Page 786: Single mothers should have their babies taken away by the government; or they could be forced to have abortions
“One way to carry out this disapproval might be to insist that all illegitimate babies be put up for adoption—especially those born to minors, who generally are not capable of caring properly for a child alone. If a single mother really wished to keep her baby, she might be obliged to go through adoption proceedings and demonstrate her ability to support and care for it. Adoption proceedings probably should remain more difficult for single people than for married couples, in recognition of the relative difficulty of raising children alone. It would even be possible to require pregnant single women to marry or have abortions, perhaps as an alternative to placement for adoption, depending on the society.”

Page 786-7: The government could control women’s reproduction by either sterilizing them or implanting mandatory long-term birth control
Involuntary fertility control
“A program of sterilizing women after their second or third child, despite the relatively greater difficulty of the operation than vasectomy, might be easier to implement than trying to sterilize men.
The development of a long-term sterilizing capsule that could be implanted under the skin and removed when pregnancy is desired opens additional possibilities for coercive fertility control. The capsule could be implanted at puberty and might be removable, with official permission, for a limited number of births.”

Page 787-8: Mass sterilization of humans though drugs in the water supply is OK as long as it doesn’t harm livestock
“Adding a sterilant to drinking water or staple foods is a suggestion that seems to horrify people more than most proposals for involuntary fertility control. Indeed, this would pose some very difficult political, legal, and social questions, to say nothing of the technical problems. No such sterilant exists today, nor does one appear to be under development. To be acceptable, such a substance would have to meet some rather stiff requirements: it must be uniformly effective, despite widely varying doses received by individuals, and despite varying degrees of fertility and sensitivity among individuals; it must be free of dangerous or unpleasant side effects; and it must have no effect on members of the opposite sex, children, old people, pets, or livestock.”

This is not a fringe person, he is part of the Obama Administration as SCIENCE ADVISER and the Elite approve of his message as shown by his Nobel Prize.

@faethor

There is a case for some vaccines and then there are lots of reasons not to want a vaccine for everything.
And most of the major medical journals are infiltrated (I know, that's a very nefarious sounding word but I can't think of a "nice" way to say that right now) by pharmaceutical company PR hacks. They just see it as pragmatic - it's a good way of moving their products - make the guys who deal with patients push the products. In that sense it's merely the same as any other professional association. We might as well read about how great vaccines are right from the marketing department of the manufacturers.

As for a universal flu vaccine? That would be a good thing - it would have significant economic and happiness benefits while reducing the risk of vaccine related injury over the protocol of vaccines every year. Each dose carries a risk of complications and so reducing the number of shots is a big deal. However, I have read quite a few approaches to the universal flu vaccine and it looks like it could be done but don't expect it to ever happen. There is too much money to be made in annual flu vaccinations - a one shot for all deal would be a huge blow to the industry.

You're using anti vax sites as evidence? Seriously? Wow! And you have the gall to lecture us about pop culture propoganda, from the people who brought us such classics as the vaccine autism link.

The mind boggles.

You'll have to forgive me if I prefer to take the word of people not suffering from the Kruger Dunning effect. Especially as I'm about to embark on a career in medicine rather than charlitanism.

Two things strike me with this:

1, That what you've done amounts to quote mining. Without greater context (ie both of us reading the book in question) it is impossible to talk about this.

2, You seem to offer no solution to the issue of global population.

And in the mean time, the world population has hit 7 billion, which by the way is around 6 too many for the planet to sustain without oil, which is set to run out real soon.

But don't worry red, that problem will sort itself out in due course.

Truther sites, being used in a non ironic fashion. I genuinely dispair.

shockingly people don't seem to understand the seriousness of this.

Wow, Cecilia defending the concept of forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations of women. Never thought I would see the day...

Lying for Jesus is still lying. By no sane measure of the English language could you take what she wrote as this, but then again we both know you aren't going to read the book you quote mined from nor indeed in your universe do the Phillipines exist.

You still haven't provided a suggestion on how to deal with the issue of over population that doesn't involve mass starvation on a global scale and the associated war that comes with it.

So exactly how is the UN going to get down to 500M people as the Agenda21 calls for?

Chapter and verse please.

And I mean from the actual text, not a loonspud site "interpritation".

Wow, Cecilia defending the concept of forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations of women. Never thought I would see the day...

Reality will be forcing the abortions of fetuses, children and adults and it shall be done dispassionately by the universe heedless of any suffering simply because that which can't go on forever doesn't.

We can choose to limit our population or we can let nature take its course and limit our population.

So you are for these measures too, eh?

I see you (plural) are trying to change the subject. This isn't about me. Personally I don't see a mass overpopulation problem. What I see is an elitism problem that you all are buying into. We (the world) have an ability to feed the world, just not a political will to. How about this. Before you start allowing forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations of women, why don't you stop ultra wealthy gay couples from purchasing designer babies.

yeah, 7 {bleep} BILLION people isn't a problem
what an asshole

let me remind everyone that I didn't have any kids because I didn't want to add to the problem

Look at the replies in this thread to see how far the brainwashing has gone.

Didn't say that. But then with your levels of reading comprehension I doubt I could get that past your ideology.

I see you (plural) are trying to change the subject. This isn't about me. Personally I don't see a mass overpopulation problem.

Choosing to ignore reality isn't an acceptable response. We can maintain these numbers only so long as there is adequate oil.

The moment the oil begins to seriously dwindle, we as a species are screwed. And yes, it is about you in as much as I asked you a question.

Although in a roundabout way you've answered it for me.

What I see is an elitism problem that you all are buying into. We (the world) have an ability to feed the world, just not a political will to.

As long as the oil flows we can feed most of the people most of the time. As oil becomes ever more expensive and our numbers continue to increase the problems get worse and worse.

You want to see what the future holds, check out the Philippines.

How about this. Before you start allowing forced abortions and involuntary sterilizations of women, why don't you stop ultra wealthy gay couples from purchasing designer babies.

Designer babies? And where, pray tell sells these supposed designer babies?
