64 == 30

His audience balked at the need to load the loading screen and asked if Commodore 64 is a "complicated version" of Playstation 2.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Ah, the C=64.
I never had one. All my parents could afford, after a couple of years of pestering, was the C=16.
I thought it was the dug's baws at the time though, especially this:

@Robert - I didn't know the Incredible Hulk participated in the Biathlon. :D

Anyhow, happy birthday to the C=64. It was pretty directly responsible for my current career. What an awesome little machine. I have the Frodo 64 emulator on my Android, now.

Hehehe.

The thing is, those graphics were absolutely cutting edge for that machine.

Still amazes me that they managed to squeeze that game into 16k. (albeit with staged loading)

-EDIT-
for comparison, here's a shot from the C=64 game it was based on:

Not that much better, considering the spec. of the two machines but, yes, at least the player isn't green. :D

I wasn't meaning it as a knock, it just completely cracked me up. It was much better than others of the era and spec, for sure. I had absolutely no trouble recognizing it was the Biathlon event from Epyx Winter Games.

Yup. Oddly, I remember the little skier dude having a blue ski suit on the C64, though. Oh well, it's been a long time. My friend and I were just reminiscing that with all the talk about the Olympics, we wanted to bust out Summer Games. :)

That's what it was based on.
The C=16 game was by Anco and called Winter Events.

Just did a search and found another image which suggests the graphics in the first screenshot might not actually be from the C=16 after all - this skier doesn't appear to be green:
