"This is a medical tragedy," added Goran Stiernstedt, a public health official from Stockholm, Sweden, about the wave of vaccine-induced narcolepsy in his country.

Roughly five million Swedes were vaccinated for H1N1 during the 2009-2010 "pandemic," and yet as few as 30 people among these are estimated to have been saved from swine flu death as a result of the shot. Meanwhile, more than 200 cases of narcolepsy have since been reported and confirmed throughout the Scandinavian country. "Hundreds of young people have had their lives almost destroyed."

Natural News tends to be over excitable, IMO. Not that they're wrong but they love to be sensationalists. So, how about some more direct science where we see the study? PubMed article on Sweden

Repeated here Medical article on vaccines and narcolepsy it's a bit easier to get to the information than at the PubMed site... Highlights "After pandemic vaccination, incidence rates increased in Finland, Sweden and Denmark. In Denmark, the increase did not follow high pandemic vaccination coverage. In Italy, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom no increased rates were seen." ... Red conveniently left out that Sweden was the only statistically significant example.

A risk that's about 9x higher for the vaccinated population would seem significant. "Narcolepsy is a condition that has a strong genetic linkage, being almost uniquely seen in persons who have the (HLA) DQB1*0602 genotype" ... Which then begs the question of what was different there. If something genetic within those individuals was triggered then what is the triggering factor? If we know this we could, potentitally, improve the medicine. We should also ask why did that factor not impact the other nations?

Conclusions from WHO -
". An increased risk of narcolepsy has not been observed in association with the use of any vaccines whether against influenza or other diseases in the past. Even at this stage, it does not appear that narcolepsy following vaccination against pandemic influenza is a general worldwide phenomenon, as no excess of narcolepsy has been reported from several other European states where Pandemrix was used, or from Canada where a pandemic vaccine similar to pandemrix was used. This complicates interpretation of the findings in Finland and Sweden. It seems likely that some as yet unidentified additional factor was operating in Sweden and Finland. The findings from the VAESCO project and further investigations in Finland and Sweden, may help clarify the determinants of any increased risk of narcolepsy, which currently appears to be restricted to the months following vaccination and by age group and country"

Didn't we already discuss this a while back? Sounds very familiar.

Incidence rate of narcolepsy in the USA is 0.07%. (found by using Google). 800 out of 5millions is a rounding error.

Need a medical study of incidences of narcolepsy in the US linked to exposure to John Kerry
bet it would have a higher statistical correlation than vaccinations
It probably would but not because John Kerry has anything to do with narcolepsy.
