To be fair, the campaign staff worked in the city of Chicago, so there aren't many non-white people to hire ....

This is a problem, of course, as whites are soon to to lose majority status and become the largest minority in the nation. The Party of Lincoln has to figure out how to re-embrace acceptance and sell it. Or face a continually shrinking minority status.

which is too bad because innovation comes with competition. and unless one of the other parties - like the Green party - get bigger, it's just going to be silly people babbling to each other

But, it is clear that in a society with increasing diversity the Republicans are attracting the shrinkingest group of people. That's a problem that needs to be fixed. I'm with Cecelia the Dems should have competition. How are Republicans going to dig themselves out of the hole they created by following Nixon's Southern Strategy? The divisiness in the Republicans are spelling their own doom. If the Republicans are inclusive they clearly have a severe marketing issue. Denying it perpetuates the error and keeps the downward spiral going.

The Republicans have a religious-right problem. If they could get out from under their control they could embrace, and steal, gay marriage from the Dems. Supporting to equalize rights of that minority would go a long way in their favor. I wouldn't bet the Republican leadership can shake their religious control.
 
Maybe now they will have ears for the Chinese communist 1-child policy?

Republicans are doomed? Possibly, the smart ones are fleeing to the Libertarian party. The Democrat party is still the catch all for morons and dreamers.
