Anti-cybernetics

Wet Hacking is just in it's infancy. I can't wait to have implants equivalent to Jodi Laforge's glasses in ST:TNG. Why would I not want to see and select any of all the different frequencies. Why would I not want Google or Whyzzat in an immediately usable neural implant. (okay perhaps 1 of those 2 )

  1. why is ANYONE going to MacCrap's?
  2. wtf? seriously, people assaulting this guy in front of his family?
  3. He was in a PUBLIC place. He's allowed to have this device just like others have cell phone cameras
  4. this technology is quite interesting

I haven't gotten anything there since 1986

seriously
I believe that. Last time I went to the Mac Donalds was about 8 years ago. Even that was because I was dependent on others and I had to eat something.

I'm a Dad so we love MacCrap... Okay not quite I'm quite sick of it. They do lure the little one's in with playgrounds and toys in their kids meals.

There are a couple healthy items that aren't bad. Their new Egg White sandwich is tasty. And they have a fruit/yogurt for $1. Though if it's too early the fruit is still frozen so be careful. My addiction is I can get a bladder buster size of Diet Coke for $1. My future cancer thanks the Golden Tits of America.

Wow, did we ever go off topic quick on this one. Thanks C.

We ordered two Ranch Wraps, one burger, and one mango McFlurry

Well, that's the real crime right there!!

But seriously, a guy comes in wearing an obvious surveillance device and sounding like an American in FRANCE! What do you expect to happen? It wouldn't have happened with a leg or a hand but something looking like home-made spy glasses ... people get touchy about being filmed.

How much you wanna bet there are security cameras in that very McDonalds? And the Champs-Elysées area is already heavily monitored. These guys were just idiots. Being French is no excuse.

Well, the French are known for being rude.

You know, there are lots of places with security cameras that will object to you bringing a camera into. It's not about whether there is monitoring but who has control over the monitoring. While the police are happy to walk about with guns, they often object if other people walk about with guns - even in some jurisdictions where it's fully legal.

Ok, it just seemed you were implying that the French have some deep rooted rejection of surveillance.

that makes no sense considering I can do the same with a cell phone

No, not that - but I think that a man who seems American, home of the "freedom fries" which still rankles with the "cheese eating surrender monkeys" and the currently much discussed NSA, might be unwelcome showing up kitted out with a camera.

People see phones differently - because they are phones - and the internet etc. However, if you are actually holding your phone in such a way as it would seem you are recording people, they will get touchy about it. If you've got an obvious camera on your head that is assumed to be always filming people ... well, I'd be surprised that this is the first time he got such a reaction.

Plus, just looking at the picture there is no obvious way to see that the thing is permanently attached to his head, it would go against expectation that it would because who would do that? Glasses come off, even hearing aids come off.
