Jury finds Casey Anthony not guilty of murder

[Updated at 2:17 p.m.] Casey Anthony has been found not guilty of first-degree murder in the 2008 death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. She was also found not guilty of aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter.

If you are white, female and reasonably attractive, you can kill your own child because of the inconvenience that comes with parenthood and get away with it. I guess this sets a precedent and we will see abortion being expanded to 3 years of age.

There are two options here. Either there was a miscarriage of justice. This is the Redrumloa thought. Where I disagree with you Red is that it won't set a presidence in the manner you described. This isn't a slippery slope.

Or the other option is the Prosecutor was unable to bring forth evidence that was compelling enough to the jury to eliminate reasonable doubt. From my understanding there is no physical or DNA evidence that associates Casey to the swamp or the body.

Of course we'll really never know which is which unless someone steps forward and takes responsibility. Myself it seems George may be as likely a suspect as Casey.

I have to agree with faethor on this one. You may disagree with the outcome. In my view, I think the Florida state Attorney Lawson Lamar did not do a good job of collection enough evidence.

I don't know what TV station you got your news from but it must be the same one that said OJ was innocent. The cadaver dog made a hit on car trunk and hair was found in the trunk, post mortem hair.

A veteran FBI specialist on hair samples, Karen Korsberg Lowe, testified a 9-inch strand of light brown hair found in Casey Anthony's trunk not only matched DNA in the Anthony family, but also matched hairs pulled from Caylee's brush.
What's more, Lowe said the hair showed dark "postmortem root banding." In plain English: It came from a dead person.
Prosecutors went to scientist Arpad Vass, of the prestigious Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennessee. This guy is so good he can analyze air. He found "overwhelming" evidence in the trunk's atmosphere that a decomposed body had been in it. He also found "shockingly high" levels of chloroform in the trunk.

The only reason people think there was not enough evidence is because:
1) Casey Anthony is a semi-pretty white woman.
2) Because of the media attention they are star struck.

If this was a poor black man from a ghetto who killed his teenage son, he would be sitting on death row by now based on the evidence.

Based on that, I'd say the prosecution was an Epic Fail!

That your view. My view is pretty much inline with Marcia Clark. I am sure she did the killing, but there is not enough proof.

Err, I don't think you understood Marcia Clark. She stated she would have voted to convict and the verdict was WORSE than OJ's verdict.

If there was any REAL justice she would have her ovaries ripped out so she could NEVER have any children since it's obvious she sucks mightily as a "mother".
there may or may not be enough proof that she killed her daughter, but NOT reporting her daughter is
"missing" for a month makes her one of the worse birth mothers in the universe.

Darwin is handling this one.

I don't know about worst than OJ's verdict.. It just the same.
Marcia Clark said:
In Scotland, they have three verdicts: guilty, not guilty, and not proven. It’s one way of showing that even if the jury didn’t believe the evidence amounted to proof beyond a reasonable doubt, it didn’t find the defendant innocent either. There’s a difference. And maybe that’s what today’s not-guilty verdict really meant. Not innocent. Just not proven. The jurors will eventually speak out and tell us.
that what I agree with that statement.
Meanwhile, although I must accept their verdict, I don’t have to agree with it. Because I did follow this case, and I have to be honest: If I’d been in that jury room, the vote would’ve been 11 to 1. Forever.
The judge would not pick Marcia Clark for that reason.

Casey Anthony did a excellent job of lying and misleading the police, so that by the time Caylee's decomposed body was found, cause of death could no longer be determined. You can't collect what is no longer there.
