Advocates carry handguns, rifles at Va. rally

ARLINGTON, Va. – Carrying loaded pistols and unloaded rifles, dozens of gun-rights activists got as close as they could Monday to the nation's capital while still bearing arms and delivered what they said was a simple message: Don't tread on me.

{bleep} Americans are stupid. Why the hell would you need weapons in a national park?

The gun-carrying protesters in Virginia rallied on national park land, which is legal thanks to a new law signed by President Barack Obama that allows guns in national parks. Organizers said it's the first armed rally in a national park since the law passed.
But of course these protesters are the cream of the crop of idiots, protesting against the Democrats by making use of a recent law the Democrats passed. But still, there's hope:

"If I know I'm not going to get a fair trial in federal court ... I at least have the right to an unfair gunfight," Vanderboegh said.
Hopefully they'll catch these fire fights on camera and put them on YouTube. Can't wait to watch these morons gunned down.

Virginia Gun Rally

Was made possible by Democratic President Obama. He was the one who signed the law allowing guns to be carried in public parks. This expansion of gun rights made it possible for pro-gun groups to come out and protest Obama being against guns.

What a strange lot the right wingers are:
They ask for lower taxes. Obama's stimulus bill lowers Federal taxes to the lowest point in 60 years... The Tea party is created protesting high taxes.

They ask to protect the 2nd ammendement. Obama signs a bill expanding the rights of gun owners... The protestors come out and say he's limiting gun rights.

The Irony is strong with this one. -- Yoda

some americans are really funny

While I think that this group "jumped the gun" (pun intended) I have no trouble with their desire to make their voices heard. Gun control is all about incrementalism, at least in the USA. Overseas it has been relatively easy to ban handguns outright (UK for example) but thankfully that cannot be done with a single swish of the presidential pen here. Too many walls to knock down from the 2nd amendment to state laws. Still, there are almost always gun control bills waiting to be discussed and voted on:

bill to expand criminal background checks at gun shows nationwide If you want to look up the specific bills, see S. 843 and H.R. 2324.

My point is that if you allow gun laws to incrementally hit the books one at a time and then call them "sensible legislation", eventually these series of laws add to more restrictions. I still hold that the only people effected by gun control laws are the law abiding citizens. Even if we were to magically ban all firearms today, there are still over 20+ millions guns on the street. How exactly do you enforce that?

Gee, I wonder why people are sensitive! Stop trying as hard as you can to defend Obama, this is not a democrat vs republican issue, it is We the People -vs- out of control government.
