Maybe, but the fact that the terrorists are using more and more sophisticated techniques also indicates that our defenses are effective as well. How many Israeli airlines have been bombed lately? Perhaps we need to follow their lead in terms of airline security.

Yes, I can agree with that, however at this point in time there's no guarantee of anything. The US could pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan, end support for Saudi Arabia and Israel, but the US has become a convenient enemy for Islamists. As I pointed out in a prior thread, Al-Qeada has attacked more then just the US, they seem to have a great appetite for enemies. Not saying the US shouldn't back out of the Middle East, just saying that it would still need to defend against Islamist attacks.
