Ahmed’s clock hoax

Dawkin's point was the if a father could manipulate a kid to do a beheading video, how hard could be to manipulate a kid to do a bomb hoax?

the '"journalist" who wrote the story totally ignored the facts of the case, he had an agenda

It's far from the first time critics have claimed Mohamed simply took apart a factory-made clock, made it look like a bomb and then played the politically correct card in his defense. As the Daily Beast reported in September, several tech bloggers and YouTube contributors alleged the fake clock could have only been intended to scare people.

But to many others, the issue at hand has less to do with the sophistication of Mohamed's clock and more with the possibility that he is the victim of Islamophobic discrimination.

the clock boy incident was a deliberate provocation, instigated by the father, Mohamed did not invent or build anything

Richard is mostly right in what he says but foolish in that he expected people to understand it.
It surprised me to see that he was unable to use his own theories in practice while discussing with people from another background.

'Clock Boy' Ahmed Mohamed Sues School & City for Accusing Him of Making Bomb

Ahmed talks about his reasons for filing the lawsuit. Among them, he claims he lost his home, his ability to be creative and that he lives in fear of being shot because “that happens here.”

The Texas Tort Claims Act gives local governments and school districts a broad grant of immunity from tort claims and sets forth certain very limited exceptions to that immunity.

In order to sue a school district in Texas you must file the suit within 6 months of the incident.

In Texas, school districts are independent entities with independently elected school boards. Municipalities have no authority over school boards.

The court has issued orders granting the motions and invited defendants to submit affidavits documenting their attorney fees for recovery. I'm going to estimate that those fees from these defendants will total between $200,000 and $300,000. Mohamed's only consolation is that the court refused to make the findings necessary to add additional monetary sanctions on top of the attorney fees.

'Clock boy' Ahmed Mohamed's lawsuit against Irving ISD, city dismissed

U.S. District Judge Sam Lindsay on Tuesday ordered that the suit be "dismissed with prejudice" and that "all relief requested by plaintiff is denied."

Lawyers for Ahmed Mohamed did not return calls for comment Wednesday.

In a statement released Wednesday, the city of Irving said that it is "extremely pleased by the court's ruling, which supports the justifiable actions taken by the officers in the matter. We remain committed to ensuring the safety of all Irving residents and schoolchildren."

Katie Long, the attorney for Irving ISD, said in an emailed statement that the district was "pleased the court had dismissed the case in its entirety" and that it had recognized that there was no basis to the claim that "Irving Independent School District or any employee discriminated against this student on the basis of race or religion."

"The Court's Order confirms that there is no plausible claim that Irving ISD or its employees violated anyone's constitutional rights. Irving ISD is committed to the safety, well-being, and equality of all students," the statement said.
