Small time rock and metal artists are struggling with sagging CD sales so I am making a point to at least buy a digital download of an album if I really want it. I'm not a big iTunes fan as I have seen many artists complain that they never see a penny from iTunes sales. I have been using Amazon for digital purchases. Do artists actually see money from Amazon digital downloads?

BTW Anvil's Juggernaut of Justice is surprisingly good!

8 bucks for an album? What a rip. Round here you can buy a CD for about $14 and that comes with a case, an insert and an actual CD for which a manufacturer gets a cut, the store gets a cut and the shippers get a cut all before the labels get their cut and finally pass some dregs on to the band. With all the money they save it should be about 4 bucks - and 2 should go to the band but it won't.

The only way most bands make money is people buying tickets to see them play their music (the old fashioned way). Stop feeding the parasites.
