While the number of unemployed workers has held steady at around 14 million in recent months, another telling measure of frustration in the labor market—the number of underemployed individuals—rose for a third consecutive month in September, by almost a half of a million people.

Almost 9.3 million Americans are considered underemployed, defined by the Bureau of Labor Statistics as working part-time for economic reasons, such as unfavorable business conditions or seasonal declines in demand.

All those underemployed are going to be voting for Obama, right?

Because if the republicans were in office right now, the banks wouldn't have tanked the economy or anything else.

Face it, no matter who picked up after Bush, this term was a poison chalice from the get go.

Looking at the choice of McCain I think the economy with Obama is much better than what the other result would have been.

I was warning people that Obama would make things far, far worse and guess what? Things are far, far worse as predicted. Bush has been out of office almost 3 years, it is time to stop blaming Bush.

Imagine the captain of the Titanic relieves himself and transfers all duties to you 3 seconds before the ship hits the iceberg. Under who's watch would you say the disaster occurred?

But Obama promised he would fix everything with Porkulus?

So if Obama didn't fix anything as promised, where did those trillions of dollars go? Kick backs to his cronies? Maybe we should look at the man behind the curtain?

That doesn't change the fact that these problems were left festering under his watch. No matter who took over from him, these problems would have occurred. The global war on terror might have staved off the problems for a while (consider the state of the economy in the US pre September 11th). But that is all it did.

So if Obama didn't fix anything as promised, where did those trillions of dollars go?

Paying for multiple wars, bailing out the banks and yeah, no doubt a percentage went to vested interests. Just as they did under Bush and his oil company buddies.

The graph is pretty, but the fact that it was wrong on it's prediction of what would happen with the bailouts doesn't lend any credence to the figures suggested for no bailout.

Red didn't Fade push that graph on us first?

Anyway the problem you're having is both the blues are a projections. Then the red adjustment reflects reality. But, that was only done to 1 of the graphs. They failed to readjust the 'without recovery plan' graph. Had that been done that you'd see the problem was much, much worse than projected. Pushing a graph that's wrong ends up with a conclusion of lies, damned lies, and statistics..

This graph and Porkulus was not about bailouts. Porkulus was Obama's "Stimulus Plan" to fix the economy.

You know what? When you kill someone they don't suddenly get better. You can't plead - hey, it's been years since I killed that guy, but you can't blame me he's still dead.
Bush will never not be to blame for killing the economy because he was there when it happened. You can only blame Obama for not fixing it. What happened in 2008 has a historic natural lifetime of at least a decade even normally. It should never have been allowed to happen but that was Reagan, Bush, Clinton and Bush who carry the blame for that. Blame Obama for his current failures such as not breaking up the too big to fails and putting enough of the perps in jail to restore confidence. But Obama for letting Wall St be the Treasurer of the US AGAIN and for all his other failings but never stop blaming those that went before for what they did because what they did didn't just go away when they did.

If you want to get some agreement and constructive discussion you just have to give up on sounding like you are defending Bush all the damn time, because he did NOT do a good job. He ran the country just as well as any company he ever ran and the USA failed just the way all Dubyas companies have. Stop looking to that moron like he was the king of some golden age.

How the hell did you ever get the idea to put such stupid words in my mouth? You know better than that.

I just said you have to stop SOUNDING like you are defending Bush. You can just say "Obama is effing up", instead of saying "you can't blame Bush". There is no point even mentioning Bush if what you really intend is to criticize Obama - that's all.
