Voters in the US are likely to shift to the right because politicians like Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher are needed to fix the world economic mess, Bob Janjuah, the chief markets strategist at RBS, told CNBC Friday.

Janjuah also issued a bearish warning to investors, predicting big stock market losses, up to $15 trillion more quantitative easing globally and said investors should get into gold

There were safeguards added in the 1930's to avoid this very sort of thing, it was Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher who removed them.

The current economic mess is a direct result of the policies they enacted in the 1980's.

There are, even still, a lot of people in the UK (although not Scotland) who think Thatcher was wonderful.

Bob might be correct on the voting for 10. He's certainly wrong about his economics. Under Ronald Reagan we borrowed more then all previous presidents, moved from the world's largest lender to the largest borrower, and we removed rules that would have better protected markets against these sorts of things.
