feller gotta do what he thinks is right for him... never know... his district might be leaning more red now and he's posturing... everyone wants to attach themselves to a shooting star... the plateaued one that has stabilized isn't so shiny... you know of course both parties do it....

Don't think that was it. He already gave up his safe seat in Congress to run for Governor, but was defeated in the Democratic primary. And besides, when was the last time a member of the Black Caucus quit the Democratic party?
