anyone want a foreclosed skyscraper?

If it were anywhere but Detroit, it might stand a chance.

I refinanced a couple months back, got a 5% mortgage, 30 year fixed.

Yay! Good news for the Penobscot; they have apparently gotten a new tenant. I think that raises the total to four or five. The building also got recognized with a historic landmark status earlier this year, as well, so things are looking up for the old girl. The quick blurb doesn't mention anything about the building's ownership status, though.

Strategic Staffing opens downtown IT center

Detroit -- Strategic Staffing Solutions, Inc . opened its Detroit Development Center in the Penobscot Building on Wednesday.

Its first anchor customer is Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, which will bring IT work to the Detroit center rather than outsourcing it. The center is opening with 53 IT professionals, more than one-third of the way to Detroit-based Strategic's goal to employ 150 people by the end of the year.
