I'm just sitting here trying to get over a traditionally shitty day when it dawns on me that Amiga.org has not so much as crossed my mind in nearly a month. I find this simple fact rather perplexing considering how deeply AO affected pretty much every aspect of my life before.

Congrats! I have not even visited or clicked on an AO link in months, probably since March.

Whyzzat is the place where all the cool cats hang out.

Gotta be honest, the people I want to talk to, to debate with are for the most part here (still need Matt to get his backside here though).

I've not really had much/any incentive to visit AO, I went back to view an old thread a little while back, but that was it. I had Karlos delete my account a while ago though. There quite literally is nothing there for me now.

I just had a wee peek. I only remember to do so when a thread like this pops up on here.

I still drop by there every so often. Probably out of old habit more than anything. Kick around the cobwebs.

Really, someone should archive up all the real Amiga information and assemble it into some kind of searchable database so that retro fans have a good resource for the machine. There were a lot of great threads on there that would be irreplaceable, as the people with that knowledge have scattered to the wind.

It's rather fitting the rest be just a forgotten tombstone until someone hacks it again.

Meh, I dropped by recently just to see if my predictions about a.org dying a slow death were coming true, and yup, it is...

Careful, taking about the good old days is one of the signs that you're getting too old.

:)

No doubt on the old part Bill. Just noticing the trend for myself.

Miss the few (VERY FEW) remaining Amiga-related friends. Don't miss the childish drama at all.

Nonsense. We all know the real reason why you guys left the org. You were just scared of Franko :p

I gotta ask.... What was the big deal about that guy? I wasn't on much over the past year or two, so I probably missed something. But, all I ever saw from him was some occasionally mildly amusing nonsense. As trolls go, that's pretty innocent. I mean, AO absorbed a lot worse from people deliberately trying to divide the community and certain other individuals spreading incorrect information to hassle people.

@ilwrath
You missed the constant personal attacks and breaking the TOS it seems. Tedd (Transition) apparently enjoyed his trolling and found it funny. Any time a moderator enforced the TOS, Tedd would reverse it without telling the staff why. Long after a large group of old timers walked away, Tedd got tired of Franko it seems and banned him. At least that is what I was told, I really don't care any more. AO is a shell of its former self.

Ah... Yeah, I didn't catch the personal attacks. That's unnecessary, wherever you are. And it's particularly asking for trouble for the new guy to do it. But breaking TOS is kind of a tradition, though, I think. I suspect we've all done it at some point. :D

Yes TOS gets bent at times, but even Doomaster didn't troll as hard as Franko with personal attacks. Franko beats out cooksey and almost to the level of that goat.se spammer some years back.

here is one example which I discussed here. You can see exactly how he exercised his 'personal attacks'.

and, no my feeling were not hurt.
thick skin here...

this is all about franko and how HE has a THIN skin

Franko is a legend. Franko is probably the funniest person i have ever met in my entire life. I reckon if he was the same in real life as he is online he would be a very successful comedian. There are only a handful of comedians who i think would be at his level and i think the vast majority of them are completely talentless. For example - Jerry Seinfield, the actors from Friends or big bang theory etc are all talentless. So yeah i miss the guy and wish he was never banned :)

Troll fail.

Troll fail.

OK, i think it's good that you are now trying to construct words collectively together but maybe you could help me understand what you mean by this. I confused.

P.S. I think the real reason you quit being a mod bot on the org was because Franko was picking on you ;)

@cecilia. Yes i'm serious. The guy is brilliant! On a side note even though we have never met in real life he has become a better friend than a lot of my friends in real life. He's a good person/friend.
