It is a shame that England cannot get past racism. Maybe blacks in England should pick up weapons and kill random white people.

There will always be morons out there that do this kind of thing. Which is why there are laws against it and why he was arrested.

As to the rest of your comment... Inciting racial hatred and rioting is also a crime over here. Just ask those lads who got lifted for making similar comments on Facebook during the London riots.

My post was a tongue in cheek take on Mike (Glaucus).

I'm surprised more black Americans aren't picking up riffles and shooting random white people, I know I would be very tempted and I certainly would find it hard to shed a tear for a racist.

So how's that middle class white privilege working out for you the_leander?

Not being middle class I wouldn't know. I mean working backwards, between the homelessness, abusive marriage, sub standard education including molestation at the hands of a teacher, broken home and being raised in abject poverty... Well I'll leave it up to you to decide.

My post was meant in a more lighthearted tone, believe it or not... I didn't mean to rub any wounds...

Not angry mate, more making a point :). One of the interesting things about poverty that was discussed in that other thread is that it is a great leveller of inequalities. On the other hand, as I've found out, even at this low rung on the ladder there are issues. To take my own life as an example again, the company I work for is at my level around 50% non white, yet there is not one non white supervisor or manager, the same was true of my previous company as well. The other thing in common was that overt racism was on display from the get go.

For instance when I asked for time off to go to my friend Noah's place for a meal, the question that came back was and I quote: "You're not one of those f'ing mudslimes are you?"

Noah was the guy who helped me secure a place to live and in so doing got me off of the streets.

I'm also aware of a significant anti gay sentiment amongst many in the company, which is why this board knows and they don't.

I just want to know what kind of gesture is racially abusive. I just can't bring anything to mind. I'm stumped.

OK, this'll probably say very little that's good about me, but monkey gestures for black players? Waving a white flag every time a french player gets the ball...
