What do you want the government to do? You want them to force employers to hire Americans? You want them to force Americans to take jobs at Chinese wages? Oh, maybe the government should hire them? What do you think would work? Slashing budgets maybe?

Cain's 9-9-9 would do wonders for those of us in the 50s who want full time employment as would gutting the deficit and restoring value to the US Dollar. One thing you don't understand Fluffy, it's really hard times in the US, unlike Canada. That is before the perfect storm starting in Europe makes it way to the West.

I understand. You don't understand WHY it is hard times in the US. I want the US to do better because Canada's economy is closely tied to the US. You are the guys we sell most of our stuff to. We like it better when you can afford to buy. Your mess is caused by the huge disparity in wealth and power, the ongoing war (which always causes social and economic problems in the home country - thousands of years of history shows this).

Your country is run by a small bunch of oligarchs (perhaps run is overly strong, but disproportionately influenced) who tell the legislators to make laws that strengthen the oligarchs. If the people don't agree then the PR companies are sent in to spread "common sense" and to make people WANT the things that the elites want - things like lower taxes on the elites - making the poor and middle classes pay more for military engagements overseas that protect the elites business interests, etc.

But maybe I'm missing something. Maybe Cain had the magic formula. Please, tell me how Cain's 9-9-9 (which is the emergency phone number in the UK, equiv. of 9-1-1) would have made it easier for people in their 50s to get full time employment. Why don't you tell me how 9-9-9 is better at getting people in their 50s working than people in their 50s getting off their lazy arses and creating work for themselves instead of waiting for someone else to hand them a job?
