If they're like most banks, the outage is probably just because the one intern who designed the website went back to school. Christ, I swear, for as much money as banks move, you'd think they could afford to hire someone with some basic design and security experience. Ah well, that's another rant.

If it really is from a rush of people closing accounts, I'd guess it'll give the other banks a chance to pause before they consider tacking on more fees to customers. So, yay!

Sometime last year a friend (who had a BoA account for some 20 years) was so disgusted by the stupidity of that bank that he opened a new account at a local bank and took out ALL his BoA money...........EXCEPT FOR ONE PENNY.

That's right...the bank has to keep open this account for one freaking lonely penny. HAHA

I don't recall the details but I think he bitched to them about some issue (this was before he removed his money), anyway, they waved whatever payment they wanted to inflict him with....he removed his money except for the penny and...haha....bob's yer uncle!
