Bank Robber

The complaint charges that bank employees opened new accounts for existing customers without their authorization, in order to meet sales quotas. The employees also allegedly transferred money from customers' authorized accounts to pay fees on the unauthorized accounts.

When fees on unauthorized accounts went unpaid, some customers were placed into collection. Others had negative information placed on their credit reports as a result.

I spent a large chunk of my life working in sales environments, many with lots of pressure and scammers aplenty. I even admit to occasionally massaging the odd figure myself to hit bonus targets (e.g. don't process an immediate sale until after the start of the next calendar month if it'll help you hit a target) but, no matter the pressure, it's rather obvious the type of behaviour above could adversely effect the customer. That was always a no-no.

I've also been in situations where I've been encouraged to "leave out some facts" in order to get a sale. I always refused, despite concern that I might lose the job - never did. It was always some manager, desperate to hit his own target, pressuring the minions to cut corners but you have to stand up for yourself if someone is asking you to lie or steal. A simple "I will not be dishonest for you" usually does the trick.
Anyone who knowingly did (or encouraged) something like the above won't get much sympathy from me.

I have a feeling they'll just fire all the employees and say: "OK. Problem's fixed" I mean, seriously, how could management know that all their little soldiers would take their orders so seriously?
