Ben Carson is a fabulist. I kind of got that feeling from watching the video I posted here because he talks about a time he spoke to a physicist and stumped him on the big bang by mentioning thermodynamics. It seems like at some time almost every creationist has stumped a physicist with the same line and I just doubt that we have a plague of creationists stumping physicists. This is one of those "urban legends" that fabulists like to claim they did and sounds "right" to the credulous members of certain groups. It, in itself, is not a big deal but it is indicative of a person who doesn't see anything wrong with padding his resume.

I'm sure the same people that were quick to slam Neil deGrasse Tyson for stretching some quotes for a good story will defend Dr. Carson for making up events in his life.

When did Ben Carson EVER claim he attended West Point ?

Quotes from Carson's two books only say he had a conversation with Gen Westmoreland at an ROTC banquet, where he was encouraged to attend West Point, that he considered the offer but ultimately “did not seek admission.”

"The Politico story is an outright Lie. Dr. Carson as the leading ROTC student in Detroit was told by his Commanders that he could get an Appointment to the Academy. He never said he was admitted or even applied." -- Carson campaign

He didn't. He claimed he was offered a full scholarship but didn't apply. Westpoint says you can't be offered ANYTHING until you apply.
Also, according to West Point, there is no such thing as a “full scholarship” to the military academy, as Carson represented in his book.

I don't see any problem with Carson's story
I was also asked by Army recruiters if I would like to go to West Point, is all unofficial, but recruiters have access to your Military Aptitude test scores that everyone took in High School, so they know who qualifies, was told by recruiters they would get me an appointment if I wanted to go.

You would if it was a story about Hillary or a story about Elizabeth Warren. Because it's about Ben Carson you'll see nothing wrong with it. If it was about Neil deGrasse Tyson it would be a big deal to you. It's just about whose team is doing it, isn't it.

Because it's about Ben Carson you are trying to make something out of nothing, when its a story about Hillary, Elizabeth Warren, or Neil deGrasse Tyson, then you see nothing wrong with their actual lying

Hillary is a habitual liar
Elizabeth "fauxahontas" Warren still claims to be an Native American Indian
Neil deGrasse Tyson has limited his comments to science and astrophysics lately

So, if the politico story is overblown does this makes up for his belief that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain theory?

Up to the voters to determine if it matters, I doubt most people care, its just one of those quirky beliefs of Seventh Day Adventists, it doesn't really effect anyone one way or another, wouldn't recommend he teach ancient history though

However there are dangerous people who still believe in the socialist religion, if only a they could get the power to kill a few kulaks who are preventing socialism from working
