LONDON (Reuters) - From live TV coverage of a hospital door to a gaggle of royal baby experts, the world's media was in a frenzy on Monday over the arrival of the future heir to the British throne, offering moment-by-moment coverage if very little actual news.

OMG OMG OMG OMG I am giddy as a school girl.

Ha finally! I've been waiting for this moment for over a week now. Not because I give a shit about the royal baby, but only because this gives me the excuse to post this video:

http://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/video?clipId=964694&binId=1.1164782&playlistPageNum=1

Once you watch the unskippable ad, you can fast forward to the 40 second mark where the camera pans around the room. At the end of it's pan you'll see a cute little girl with a white flower head band taking a toy out of a box. That little cutie is Sophia. It must have been a really slow news day that day, but the CTV camera crew came around to this mothers group that my wife goes to at least once a week. They asked to interview my wife about her thoughts on the royal baby but she felt she had a bad hair day so declined (that, and she really couldn't care less about the royal baby). Oh well. But Sophia made the cut in that shot.

Now if only I could find a way to rip that video for safe keeping... All my attempts so far have failed. :(

I'll check it out about ripping from OWB when I get home.

Cute baby!

Nope, doesn't look like I can directly rip it. If you really want it, I can rip through brute force maybe tomorrow.

What's brute force? I was thinking of using a screen capture program, but not sure if there are any good free ones out there.

Aaah! I haven't used a screen capture program on a PC. If you can find one that works, go for it. I have a cheapo stand alone SGVA->S-Video adapter and I have a TV input card for my main PC. If needed I will bring home my work laptop and use it to playback, recording back on my PC. If you find good capture software it MAY produce a cleaner video. My hardware will result in better than VHS, about DVD quality.

Ok, thanks. I'll see what I can do first.

That's the best part. After that it just got too painful to watch.

this one was tricky but i wanted to get another shot

Yep, that's the little monkey there. Did you just pause the video and take a screen shot?

http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/features/how-to-build-your-baby-bullshit-bunker-2013072376553

Dig up your garden to a depth of 8ft and line the pit with sandbags. These should keep out any TV, radio or internet signals which all contain high levels of baby bullshit.

Cover the top of the pit with decking, which will make it look like a normal garden and deter any Sky reporters from visiting to ‘get your reaction’ to the birth.
Grab tinned food, bottled water and a firearm. Get into the bunker as quickly as possible, otherwise neighbours may force you to attend a celebratory tea party.

Friends or relatives may appear, desperately demanding entry to your shelter and perhaps trying to claw their way in. But it’s too late for them, they are already contaminated and are thinking about nothing except whether the baby will be called George or Albert. Use deadly force if necessary.

The next part is a waiting game. To keep your morale up, try to remember what life was like before the royal baby, when people were still slightly interested in other things.
The hardest part is knowing when to emerge. Lift the decking just enough to see out and look for warning signs like bunting, commemorative floral displays and people wearing Union Jack suits with giant papier-mache baby heads.

There was a royal baby born?
apparently

I don't give a rat's ass and don't know any details....and I'd prefer it that way.
Glaucus' daughter, on the other hand, is worth a bit of effort

Well, I have a pcap of the stream but didn't find out how to put it back together yet.

Well, using firefox and Video Download Helper, it was able to download the .flv but failed to convert it. I wonder if Sony Movie Studio can directly read that .flv file which I'm currently on a 30 day trial period. Guess I can give that a shot.
