CDC Refutes Obama's Claim

Question for conservatives. If you are against government spending doesn't paying for contraceptives make sense? We have a society with millions of unemployed, millions on food stamps, and millions on medicare/medicaid. Can't we reduce some of the long term government spending had some of those millions never been born?

If you want to let conservative economic principles rule you'd certainly cut out all government spending. Realistically however that's not going to happen. (Well unless conservatives completely bankrupt society as they've been working hard to do.) Instead why not spend a few dollars if it saves a few hundred? Isn't that a small conservative victory?

Is he telling lies or just being overly vague? "Nearly 99%" doesn't mean "exactly 99%". He may also have made the mistake of saying "all women" when he really meant to say "all sexually active women". If that's the case, and it likely is, his numbers are probably bang on: Facts on Contraceptive Use in the United States
Virtually all women (more than 99%) aged 15–44 who have ever had sexual intercourse have used at least one contraceptive method.

This is backed up by your own article:
President Obama's claim that nearly 99 percent of women have used contraception at some point in their lives appears to stem from a careless or misleading restatement of a sentence that appears in a July 2011 HHS-funded Institute of Medicine report that recommended to HHS that a regulation be issued under President Obama's health-care law that cost-free coverage for sterilizations and contraceptives for women be included in all health care plans sold in the United States.
On page 103, this report said: “More than 99 percent of U.S. women aged 15 to 44 years who have ever had sexual intercourse with a male have used at least one contraceptive method.”

So it seems Obama wasn't pulling numbers out of thin air, but certainly missed some important qualifiers. Calling him a liar seems a bit silly as it's doubtful he was intentionally misleading.

This isn't about saving money or the children, it's about putting women back in their place and reducing them to being the self propelled incubators god says they are...

So if I win a $5 scratch off ticker and claim to be a multi-million dollar lotto winner, all is good?

Why do you even bother with stuff like this? You're like a kid - and I mean a little one - with your "he bumped into me by accident and apologized so as long as I say sorry I can shoot him in the head" type logic. Quite frankly, you can win a $5 scratch ticket and claim to be a multi-millionaire all you want but it just makes you the idiot. If, on the other hand, you claimed to have won $500 I might be willing to entertain the fact that you had simply misread the decimal place.

I'm not the POTUS trying to destroy the Constitution, so me doing that would not be a big deal.

Then blame him for that and don't get distracted by stupid little things like misreading a report.

Hahaha - very well put.
