Uncircumcised boys and men may face more UTIs

Breaking down the results by age, they calculated that the likelihood of a UTI between birth and one year of age is 9.9 times higher in uncircumcised boys compared to circumcised boys. Between ages 1 and 16, uncircumcised boys are at 6.6 times higher risk, and after age 16 their risk is 3.4 times that of uncircumcised men.

Based on those findings, the researchers projected that doctors could prevent one UTI with every four circumcisions, "which is astronomical," Morris said.

That must be why evolution has eliminated the human foreskin.

I chose to base my opinions on science and not some some anti-religious hate.

-Edit-
That's like saying "that's why evolution has put on/off switches on women's ovaries eliminating the need for abortions.

heh, that was a good one!

No need for a switch, nature already had a solution for that called infant mortality.

Abortion is NOT nature.
Sure it is, it's called miscarriage. There are plenty of reasons why a fetus is miscarriage, but it's always because the baby was unhealthy in one way or another. Most fetuses with downs syndrome are naturally aborted, or die shortly after birth, but some live on. Btw, down syndrome is the only chromosomal abnormality that doesn't always end in miscarriage, all others do. Nature favors the healthy and punishes the weak.

No, you chose to ignore the top half.
Well, the top part gets the headlines for sure, but the bottom part definitely takes the sizzle away:

In November, Fedorowicz and colleagues published a report concluding that no existing study that examined the risk of urinary tract infections and circumcision was of high enough quality for any recommendation.

And there's:
At $200 each circumcision, preventing one urinary tract infection would cost $40,000, "which you can treat with an $18 antibiotic; it's overkill," Van Howe said.
I mean, we're talking about a very treatable infection here, not certain death.

We could as well preventively remove the appendix, or for women, the breasts as they're at risk of breast cancer.

No. I read the top half, then I got to the part where the news likes to put the information content of a story - the end.
The fact is that the cost/benefit mentioned at the bottom is pretty damning. It is quite clear that this is just another study designed to move money from medical insurers to surgeons. But that's not all - circumcision is surgery and is not risk free. Risks include death and loss of penis. The more circumcisions that are done, the more boys there are that will live as girls.

CDC recently announced that Circumcision was more positive than harmful.

On HIV they said circumcision reduces the risk from female to male transmission of HIV by about 50%. Something they didn't say is a bit under 10% of HIV cases in the US are from this cause. There isn't much scientific research on the impact to the other 70% which is male to male transmission. And, of course, trimming your tip will do nothing to prevent the about 20% of HIV cases from intravenous drug use. .... What if male-male rates are worse with circumcision?

One thing the CDC didn't appear to say is we really should encourage this practice to be done within clinics by doctors only. The oral suction done by religious practioners which has passed STDs and killed some infants should be outlawed.

IMO, every person should have the right to remain physically intact until they are able to make an informed decision about their body.

Dang, faethor, you got me there.
Thought Red had made a reappearance for a second.

I couldn´t agree more.
