Conducting an experiment by regulation.

University of MN Bee Lab is doing some interesting genetic works on bees. They're cross breading Southern USA bees with Northern Russian bees to create something that's heartier for the climate. Southern USA bees can't survive Northern USA winters. They're also working on bees that have a reduction of impact from parasitic infections.

Not only is pesticides thought to play a role (as in banned by EU and USA) but so are parasitic infections and high fructose corn syrup. Actually I find the EU vs USA will be an interesting experiment. If one bee does better than the other we'll then need to figure out why. Even if it's EU better than USA the answer might not be as straight forward as one thinks. If it's USA over EU then pesticide impact is probably negligable at best.
