cool car doors

My question is how well does these doors hold up to side impact (T-Bone) accident.

kind of my question as well, and how safe AND robust it is. Other than that, nice find indeed, Cecilia! :)

Seems to me this is an answer in search of a question. The hollow where the door would fit will in the future be a battery location. Keep the heaviest mass low and well balanced. Much harder to acheive a 50/50 balance when the batteries are high up and or hanging on the other side of the wheels.

I agree it's pretty. Though in future cars I think there would be some serious practicality issues in question.

I'm not sure you don't have those serious practicality issues in current cars. Fairly useful stuff like footwells are there, right now. :/ Look at that MkVIII up there. The back seats have no footwells. That's OK for the baby, but not so good for a teenager or larger. Notice how the model's legs are all folded up sideways at 2:40? And then how the model in red obstructs the view of her struggling to exit, despite the much larger door opening? :D

(And as an aside... Seriously, what's up with the poor 'shop job on the Detroit Fox Theater marquee? After building the MkVIII prototypes, they couldn't afford to slip someone 10 bucks to change it for a few minutes filming?)

That's exactly the type of door I wish everyone else had!
