A teacher allegedly slapped Lisa Henry Bowen's son, Curtis, in class at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School, according to Bowen's gigantic 40-page letter that Bowen CC'd to President Obama, Vice President Biden, three senators, and more than 20 other officials.

Curtis shall receive, among many other things: $13,500 worth of Wal-Mart gift cards, a free college education, two trips to Disney World, nine years of private tennis lessons on the Plaza, season tickets to the opera, theater, and ballet, almost a decade's worth of psychological counseling by "the best black child psychologist in the country," a whole orchestra's worth of new musical instruments, a three-week trip to Africa at a five-star hotel, and a personal audience with President Obama.

Lisa Henry Bowen invites you to "kiss my entire black ass."

I don't really see a problem here. The case is did the teacher slap the kid? If so, the teacher should be held responsible. The crazy demands of the mother doesn't hold any weight on anything. Take the teacher to court and let the court decide the penality. My recommendation would be any pay out would be for the kid and locked in a holding account unaccessible until the kid turned 18.

Corporal punishment is legal in Missouri schools.

district handbook said:
A staff member may use reasonable physical force against a student without advance notice to the principal, if it is essential for self-defense, the preservation of order, or for the protection of other persons or the property of the school district.

This kid was in need of counseling before any teacher ever slapped him.

"the sovereign mother, intellectual property owner, creator and caretaker of Curtis Bowen©" should have a great future in Democrat politics.

A) Racebaiter? Check!
B) Crazy? Check!
C) Makes outrageous requests of the taxpayer? Check!
D) Views children as objects and ATMs? Check!
E) Has plenty of ideas to hand out money and prizes to her friends? Check!
F) Minority grievances? Check!
G) Willing to sue to get what she wants? Check!
H) Irrationally angry? Check!
i) Black Liberation Theology "social justice"? Check!

We don't 'know' that. There is little indication in the article the teacher's life needed defending. And if 1 kid disrupted order of a class so much that people and the school needed protection how truly lacking in control of that class is that teacher. About 1/2 a lifetime ago I worked as a Aid for EBD kids. I've seen some violent behaviors in the class rooms. Including a knife pulled on a teacher. The rest of the class waited for the event to be over, no order was lost. And the teacher didn't hit the kid. Perhaps I was blessed with co-workers that knew how to handle 7 year olds.

Your opinion is a great example why we have courts and shouldn't be settling issues in the press.

Worthless ad hominems of Bowen and the Democratic Party.

@Red -- I agree the letter and actions from the Mom are crazy indeed. What seems to be overlooked here is the child. If he has to put up with this at home I feel for him. Many children have to deal with growing up with a parent who has a mental illness. What it doesn't excuse is being hit by a teacher. Teachers should be setting the example not being an abuser.

Oh I agree, from what little has been written it doesn't seem there was a good reason for him being slapped.

Yes Metalman people 'own' their children. It's the parents right and responsibility to ensure their children are treated fairly and not abused by outside forces. And it's also the parents right that when they find out about such abuse that actions are taken for the 'loss' incurred due to the incident and the prevention of reoccurrance.

Mom's demands are crazy, that's for sure.

What isn't justified here is the post you placed. I find it mocking an irrational, perhaps mentally impared, person. I also find the post to be clearly racist. That post was as crazy as the Mom. IMO this posts shows us more about you than it does about the incident.

You've just jumped off the deep end IMO. Calling someone stupid and greedy doesn't make you a racist. Giving someone a pass for being stupid and greedy BECAUSE they are black is racist.

Metalman did more than call someone stupid and greedy. The first section in the picture he posted called out the teacher's race. The second section then clearly defined the ownership of black youth as property. The only time people were property was when they were slaves. There's far, far too much race baiting in his post to accept that it was only calling them stupid.

Am I missing something here? The nutty mother was the one pointing out the teacher's race. The picture is a page from the mother's letter.

Apologies if I missed that. Though this doesn't change a thing for me I still stand by what I've been saying. I've posted the Mom appears to be crazy (and now racist). And I've posted no matter the position of the Mom, appropriate or not, that does not excuse the teacher's behavior.

Lisa Henry Bowen© alleges that her 4th grader & 14 year old son Curtis© was caught horse playing and was slapped by a teacher named Ms. Curry. Lisa Henry tried to report the teacher to social services for child abuse, but was denied as Curtis' skin wasn't broken. She tried to make an assault report with KCMO police but didn't want to meet police on school grounds. Lisa Henry Bowen© alleges that the teacher "...Ms. Curry, a white woman with a white privileged mindset that makes her believe it is appropriate to slap black children in an all-black school." was clearly motivated by racial intolerance and she implies that it is only appropriate for black teachers to slap black children.

The entire KCMOSD is only about 15% white, there are no mostly white KCMOSD schools.

The school Curtis© attends is a ACE (African Centered Education) school, consisting of 100% black students. The faculty of the school only has 2 white teachers, Ms Curry and surely by coincidence, the music teacher who Lisa Henry Bowen© also complains about in her letter.

Seems like her motivation was "Ah ha! My kid has been slapped! I can cash in! and save my neighbors from HAARP rays too!."

Well maybe it will be an inspiration to her next Jazz album. Looking forward to hearing "Never Gonna Let You Get Hurt (By a White Teacher)." "Keep The Mind Control Beams Away from My Intellectual Property." and "Oh Lord! won't you give me a Wal-Mark gift card?"
