Cybereye has cancer

I'm very sorry to hear this, here's hoping that it is indeed operable and responds to any follow up treatment he may need. Give him my best from downunder.

I hope it's treatable. All the best wishes and luck for CyberEye and his family!

Wish Cybereye good luck from all of us. The cure rate gets better every year.

It's looking good now guys/gals. Without putting too much detail on the web, a sensitive part of his body grew into a fist sized turmor that had to be removed. It was painful but he is recovering. 1st doc opinion on his full body cat scan is the cancer likely has not spread. He sees a 2nd doc for opinion next month. That doc will decide if he needs radiation. It is my understanding is there is only a 30% chance at this point the cancer spread. *IF* it has not spread, there is a 95% survival rate.

I know you all mostly only know CE briefly here. Wayne's met him once in person and possibly Lee (I forget), but that is about it. CE's a unique personality but likely the nicest guy you'd ever meet. Cancer is an ugly bastard. I've lost too many friends and family recently and I'm sure it has affected all of you in one way or another. Let's hope treatment gets better and one day there is a complete cure. CE isn't elderly, he is only 42. My wife lost a close friend who was only in her 20. There is no age limit these days.

Happy to see some good news. Hope it keeps coming.

well, I think I've mentioned that my cousin died of cancer in her 30's .....

I've had colleagues who died of cancer ...... (in their late 40's)

and just this week a High School classmate was operated on with some sort of tumor in the brain (I don't have any details but another classmate is in contact with her husband).

yes, cancer is a bitch

all the best to Cybereye

I know people who survived cancer and are still alive today. It is survivable. Many people survive cancer but many of them don't tell others. It's important not to focus on the tragedies.

oh, I never said no one survives.....that other HS friend had breast cancer and is doing well right now

my aunt had breast cancer - a mastectomy and has survived some 12 years.

cancer is still a bitch. that was my only point

Sounds quite positive indeed, good to hear, give him my best.

Radiation was ordered for Jan 4, but was just canceled. Initially his cat scans looked fine, but 2nd opinion called for follow up cat scan which shows his liver as an area of concern. I'm not going to post any more on this until there is a major even one way or another. What was once looking good is now looking not so good :(

Sorry to hear that. Hope the outlook improves for him.

Thanks. His employer provided insurance is a joke. I have never seen a bigger POS insurance plan than what he has. Here is an opportunity for Obamacare to prove some value to me, if the roll out comes in time to help...
