That's a pretty dark silver lining. It's looking like this whole thin was very elaborate theatre .... including the downgrade. Finally, after so many have come at it from so many directions the Democrats will be the ones that cut Social Security and will look like they have been trying to save it but circumstances conspired against them. Trillions of dollars stolen from the people who put the money into the system for retirement and it's no-one's fault but the "market". All that wealth was transferred into elite hands long ago but now people will see that they will never get it back - not until they have a government that will take it back from those elites - but that will never happen because it would be "socialist".

If you steal a hundred bucks you are a thief - if you steal a trillion dollars you are sophisticated (and too big to prosecute).
