In case you've missed it, I have been mostly giving Obama the benefit of doubt since the election. Some things he seemed to be getting just right, others I'd give him some leeway. That is all starting to go out the window. Obama's handling of this disgusting stimulus package is sickening. His speech tonight was frightfully stalinesque! He berates republicans for not signed off on this rushed liberal pork barrel nonsense, then he blasts freedom of speech? He didn't even write the damn thing himself, he had ultra liberal Nancy Pelosi write it for him! Oh yeah, that was going to balanced  They had 246 million earmarked for movie produces for God's sake! Let me pick out a few items I don't like.
• $2 billion earmark to re-start FutureGen, a near-zero emissions coal power plant in Illinois that the Department of Energy defunded last year because it said the project was inefficient.
Who cares if it is inefficient, it makes libs feel good!
• A $246 million tax break for Hollywood movie producers to buy motion picture film.
Yup, gotta give back to the Michael Moore's of this world who makes it all possible.
• $448 million for constructing the Department of Homeland Security headquarters.
• $248 million for furniture at the new Homeland Security headquarters.
Picking right up where Bush left off, so much for getting rid of that POS Patriot Act.
• $600 million to buy hybrid vehicles for federal employees.
Why the hell aren't they buying their own vehicles?
• $125 million for the Washington sewer system.
There has to be a joke here somewhere..
• $150 million for Smithsonian museum facilities.
More crosses submerged in urine displays?
• $1 billion for the 2010 Census, which has a projected cost overrun of $3 billion.
Uuuhh..
• $75 million for "smoking cessation activities."
Aren't we in a recession? How is this helping the economy exactly?
• $6 billion to turn federal buildings into "green" buildings.
You have no idea how much nonsense most of this is, but I will have to keep my mouth shut since it is becoming job related for me..
• $160 million for "paid volunteers" at the Corporation for National and Community Service.
Paid volunteers eh? Nice pork payoffs for loyal friends.
• $850 million for Amtrak.
More feel good nonsense, doesn't help the economy. The head of Amtrak must has been a campaign contributor.
Almost none of this will help the economy, this is just a small sample of the pork. Republicans don't like it? Well, duh! I would sure hope not! Maybe, just maybe Republicans will start acting like republicans again! Obama is turning out to be just another stalinesque dem.
