The new iPad may be a hot item in more ways than one.

If it arrives Thursday as the info says I'll let you know.

Reading the various news articles about this issue, it seems if you dial back the brightness most of the heat (which is around 10C more than the old one with it maxed out), it is much less noticeable.

Got the iPad, still charging. Apple works so hard at design. Then they ship a black iPad with a white cable and charger? IMO an aestitic failure to save them a dime or two.

Had the iPad now for over a month. Making good use of it. Compared to the iPad2, I gave to another to use but have it availabl, it seems the iPadHD is a bit warmer to the touch. But, nothing compared to some laptops.

I use a cover on the iPad. It gets flipped to the back when using. The covers don't feel any different after a 1/2 day of use and testing side by side.

Not saying there couldn't be a big issue on iPadHD. Just that the issue is probably not all or in some cases insufficently different to worry about.
