For those that remember, I was building a soap box cart for a charity event way back in June but it met with disaster and injury. The hill was a little to fast for our steering mechanism and our center of gravity was too high.

Well, come the day of the races, despite my informing the organizers of our misadventures, several carts pulled off pale reproductions of our crash (and two of them after hitting the same rough patch that we had noted).

I have to say that our cart crash was by far the most spectacular and it is a shame I wasn't able to capture it on camera. While these chump carts tended to collapse and merely fall over because their wheels fell off, our wheels STAYED ON - and because of that the cart was able to launch physically into the air and perform a complete roll. I still have a snapshot in my mind of the cart upside-down hanging above the roadway with the driver suspended beneath it.
Anyway, the cart remains dead, the driver's wounds are healing but he'll never grow the fingernail back.

And... I finally finished cutting the footage I shot on the race day including all I managed to catch of the crashes. The edit is crap and the audio glitchy but it's up now and I can stop fretting about it :)

Seems like it was a good idea to shorten and straighten. :-)

Looks like fun.
Well, at least it didn't hurt ME. :D
Yes, I noticed. Film directors, like good generals, are always kept safely away from any danger. ;-) Btw, did I notice a hint of disappointment in the end part where you said "no dismemberment"? That short little dramatic pause gave something away there me thinks.
