A great example of why we need equal rights marriages. Gay man arrested at hospital for being by his loved one
Even though Roger Gorley was assigned power of attorney by Allen, the hospital recognized the family's rights above the assigned power of attorney.
Libertarians, of course, should be highly offended. The reason is the law is seeing parental rights above individual rights. What we have here is Allen being denied the ending of his life in the manner he desired. Instead his parent(s) get to choose that for Allen.
