Anyone seen it and have an opinion? As a huge fan of the original, my first reaction was knee-jerk disgust. Evil Dead 2 is possibly my favorite movie of all time. As time went by I kept seeing it being promoted as not only blessed by Sam Rami, but Bruce Campbell was involved in production and has a cameo.

So good or not?

We saw it opening weekend. Both my wife and I are horror fans. It is a serious horror movie. Nothing campy. It was mostly good. We both enjoyed it. Warning if you don't like blood don't go

Well the original Evil Dead was a serious horror movie, the campiness didn't start until Evil Dead II and went off the chart with Army of Darkness (Evil Dead 3). I guess you have seen the original 3?

Thanks for the input.

own the special editions covered with faux human flesh.

Okay a bit more time

Evil Dead remake depends on what one is looking for. This is a remake. The story isn't original, we've seen it all before. But, Shakespeare has been made countless times and isn't always fresh either. So, that doesn't mean it can't be good. Just don't expect anything unexpected, we've all seen the Cabin Horror flicks. The biggest difference is the remake ramps up the gore factor. I thought it was all good and worked fine. Later evening prime rate movie prices are expensive. I'd don't know if the value is there for that. Go in the non-primer, lower cost hours, and you'll feel you got a decent value for your money.

If someone is looking for an original take on Cabin Horror I'd say for a more serious approach view 'Cabin in the Woods' or for more comedy approach 'Tucker and Dale vs Evil'.

I haven't seen Cabin in the Woods yet, but Tucker and Dale vs Evil is freakin great!
