It's always been socially advantageous to be a holocaust survivor. Nothing wins an argument faster than "I survived the holocaust".
Of course, it hasn't been so good financially despite the fact the Israel has collected billions on behalf of holocaust survivors - they just didn't actually GIVE the money to the survivors.
However, there may finally be a practical reason to be a holocaust survivor. If granny is getting long in the tooth and you can't bare to see her in an institution but you can't afford to care for her - just grab a needle and tattoo a number on her arm. Then sign her up for this.
