Now if you really want to go screaming and pulling your hair out about government taking your liberty, perhaps you should be out protesting Obama's secret committee that determines if you are a terrorist and deserve to be assassinated without a trial or held indefinitely. Oh wait, Obama is a Progressive, those un-constitutional powers get a wave off, don't want to harm Obama's re-election chances.

So why isn't the right out there protesting those things? Oh wait - they actually agree with those things and just want to get the White House back so they can make good use of those provisions.

(Or it could be that everyone can see that protesting gets you nothing more than pepper sprayed, beaten and put on the list).

Personally if I was wrongly arrested by an invading army, held without trial in a foreign land, then let go once they figured it out I'd sign up for the battle field as soon as my boots hit the homeland.

That makes sense. Piss off the children of the dead fathers policy. Always much easier to let the President in 2030 deal with the problem again. IMO we can't discount the myoptic use of Afganistan by the US against USSR in the late 70s/early 80s as being part of the reason for 9/11. Certainly we should fairly blame the people but just as likewise we didn't operate in a bubble.

unfortunately, it is not that easy. the American gov is actually complicated being separated into three groups each with their own responsibilities and powers. Executive (the President), legislative (Congress) and Judicial (Supreme Court). The are "supposed" to work together but when they don't we have a bit of chaos.

they have spent quite a bit of energy blocking and preventing anything good. It's part of the political game around here but this is really a bad time to play games

It's funny to listen to all the European liberals, Canadian Socialists, and the "it's Bush's fault" American wimps complain about Obama now, or make excuses for him, after telling the world that he would be America's savior and the best thing since sliced bread.

Yet, given the chance, you would even now, vote him in again.

IMO it says more about the system. We get two choices. Obama isn't great but he's the best of the two options.
