im watching chris rock on comedy central... he's pretty close to the funniest man alive as far as stand up goes...imho. on the other side of the spectrum... its a toss up between lizz winstead of daily show fame or tina fey... i have secret crush on both of them... err... i mean... it used to be a secret.... :D

Anyway, my favorite is Arjan Ederveen:

With his brilliant absurd-realistic docu-dramas he let, for instance, people believe there exists such a thing as trans-racialism.

This thread appears to not be politically related. It was neither political nor posted to politics. As a Mod I ask politely that people not hijack the thread. There's about half dozen other politic threads right now. Please use those and or create another if you want to discuss politics.

Back to entertainment. Thank you

and thank you... just trynna lighten some of the obvious hostilities we all feel (myself included) when we believe the future of our nation is at risk... anywhoooo... on the flip side much of comedy is political...

i really liked george carlin and thought he was hilarious but his words hit too close to home to make it laughable... john candy was good but toward the end as his health waned (wagons east anyone) so did his humor... john belushi was almost the same way.... it was saddening to see him like that. gawd remember sam kinison, and sexist andrew dice clay? lol... mitch hedberg.. another tragedy as well... what a scandalous waste of potental robbed of us by addictions... makes me appreciate them while they are with us all the more... all the kings jesters suffer in silence when they are in the solitudes of home...

but i think 30 rock is funny and i actually enjoy watching ugly betty so what do i know... i'm kinda a romantic comedy kinda feller because i know how quickly life can get goofed up. no such thing as perfect romance if people can't find humour in their own folly. they might as well move on to a different relationship because that one won't get far.... one of the things i notice watching comedy central is that when they pan out into the audience, even on the dang blue collar comedy tour what you see, what you are treated too, in fact; is humans collectively at their best all trying to grab a moment of happiness and they don't care who they share it with. chrs rock is an even blend of everybody, jeff dunham, tho im not a big fan, pretty varied audience... list goes on... let's try that for five minutes... or at least one thread... can we?

the last one is my personal favorite of sam's

I guess your favorite is displayed in your avatar?
yes, no doubt the ladies that created AbFab are quite brilliant.

Sam was brilliant - I've got all his CD's

Julie Lewis-Dreyfus just won another Emmy for her latest series on HBO. I'm sure I'm the only one here who watched it, so trust me, the series and Julie are hysterical.

Chris Rock - hits the nail on the head, So did George Carlin. And his words never lose their punch because it's ALL honest.

You got a healthy curiousity I see :)
Unfortunately, it's kind of hard to translate much of the Dutch comedy (Kooten & de Bie, Jiskefet, Arjan Ederveen) I love.
The British comedy I love, on the other hand, like Bottom, League of Gentlemen, Keeping Up Appearances, AbFab, French & Saunders, you can easily track that on Youtube :)

they sometimes show up on BBCAmerica channel
