There was something back in 2008, let me see - oh wait, maybe that doesn't count because Obama wasn't the president yet.

Here's a guy who did time for death threats against Dubya - Vikram Buddhi.

Now, way back in 2009 it was said that death threats to Obama were up 400% over Bush but the Secret Service denied this and said the rates were comparable. I can't find any information on the rates today. It may be that since the gun nuts are right wingers and the peaceniks are lefties there could be a modicum more danger for him but I don't see any official stats.

I think death threats were at their lowest ever against GHWBush. No one, not even the crazies, were dumb enough to give Dan Quayle the power of the Prez.
