Farid Khavari (think I've mentioned this guy before, Red?) but he does have the right idea.

A state bank for Florida (like the state bank of North Dakota) would allow Florida to lend to itself and get out from under all current debt loads and fund government with less taxes.

In fact, it's how we used to do things in Canada. Our health care system only really started getting into trouble in 1992 when the government of Canada started to borrow more from the private banks and less from the national bank of Canada.

Eeek! A democrat! Just kidding, just kidding

You linked to an article before. Thanks for the link. I'll read through it all tonight and/or tomorrow. A quick glance looks like he has some good ideas, a few very good and maybe a couple I'm not too sure about. I'll form more of an opinion when I finish. I wonder if he is known enough to even win the Democrat primary?

I believe North Dakota is the only State that runs a bank.

I'll read through it after my morning responsibilities in an hour or so. Florida is a total mess, our current Republican governor is a joke. I like the idea of no property taxes, as the current property tax system is ridiculous. State owned bank for mortgages? Mixed on this, but open minded.
