Yes and what are you going to do about it?
What are we going to do about it?
Nothing. Nothing at all.

Personally I checked up on the laws regarding this issue, it comes down to this:

1: If a person has religious convictions against supplying a particular product then the licensing body for pharmacies must be told in advance - in such cases another qualified person must be present at all times in order to cover for those particular prescriptions... (This is a condition of the pharmacy licensing authority.)

2: If you have a valid prescription then they must honour it - accepting they have the drug in stock.

From what I've seen from the various media reports the manageress was a temp who was only on for one day. The company (Lloyds) have launched an investigation, as has the licensing authority. It seems that this particular woman may well have fallen foul of the first requirement.

I armed myself with facts on the legality of it all. So the question is what are you going to do about it?

This customer has probably done the right thing in going to the media, as it will force the company to make damn sure that this doesn't crop up again. Even being one of the largest high-street pharmacy chains in England they simply cannot afford bad publicity like this.

if I saw this happen in a local store i would tell EVERYONE I know to NEVER buy ANYTHING from that place.

and, If I saw it happen in front of me I would tell the media.

the store would suffer by losing customers.

hitting people in the wallet is THE best way to handle fuckheads like this.

do nothing??
not me

Hm, convincing... sorry if my tone was a bit harsh, but these things always feel like something that is quickly forgotten about, you know.

not at all.

I've seen this happen in the US - in another state, nowhere near me.

I decided then What I would do so this isn't a new news story for me.
